We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day…we love each other every day!
Has Valentine’s Day left you disappointed and depressed? We’ve been seeing your posts and we have been in your shoes.
Do you know what the turning point was for Kaci & I?
To get to that answer we really have to share some of our story (for the in-depth story check out my book “Falling Down” on Amazon).
We bought the false, storybook love story that is crammed down our throats by media. Before we knew each other we had already given ourselves to others. This is a horrible foundation for any relationship!
This isn’t our religious convictions speaking. I was an atheist when all this happened and it still hurt! That’s just the sad reality and the seeming conspiratorial coverup in society.
Valentine’s Day seemed to be the day we hinged all our hopes of love and romance on…and it never lived up to our expectations. We were always disappointed.
It wasn’t until we committed to loving each other daily. Or as Jesus would say, “love your neighbor as much as you love yourself”.
That’s a deep love!
Now, Valentine’s Day has no hold over us. We don’t even celebrate it because even through the hurts we love each other daily!
I want to encourage you today, if one day determines how much you are loved…you aren’t in a loving relationship.
