Nashville duo NEELY will be hitting the recording studio December 11th!
Husband and wife Nashville duo, Jeremy and Kaci Neely, have announced they are headed back into the studio. They have set a place and date for recording on Tuesday, December 11th at The Amber Sound in Nashville, TN.
“This is a direct response to the folks who have become Patrons of ours via our Patreon Page. Without their support we would not have been able to do this right now,” says Jeremy.
Since 2010, NEELY has made music their full-time career. However, that has come at a cost. Jeremy explains, “The hardest place to be creative is on the road. You never feel settled. For the last 6 years Kaci and I have been on the road 8 – 10 months out of every year. That’s not many nights at home. That’s not very settled.”
Being on the road is only part of the reason why listeners haven’t heard much from NEELY since their hot 2013 hit, Kiss My Grits. As Kaci puts it, “a bunch of breakdowns on the road constantly ate up our recording budget.”
The song slated to be recorded is a crowd favorite – “Here With Me”.
While there are a number of songs that Jeremy and Kaci could potentially record, the one they have chosen is “Here With Me”.
“It seems that every time we play ‘Here With Me’ people get up and dance. We’ve also had folks message us asking us when the song will be available. Those are pretty good indicators that it’s time to get the song recorded,” explains Jeremy.
“Here With Me” is quite a detachment from NEELY’s usual driving rock sound. This new offering leans heavily on their country roots.
Aren’t they afraid of alienating their fans?
“When we released Kiss My Grits I spent a lot of time on social media interacting with our fans. I kept asking ‘will it turn y’all off if we try a country rock song?’ The reply was overwhelming and unanimous that as long as we continued to make excellent music, they would follow us,” says Jeremy.
“At the end of the day, I’m an artist and I love to create,”, continues Jeremy, “I don’t know if it is old age, our Patrons, or both, but I just feel the freedom to create as an artist now.”
